WGCC-FM signed on the air November 13th, 1985 as the most powerful community college radio station in New York State, with 880 watts of power. The NEW SOUNDS OF 90.7 was an instant hit within its demographic range, which runs from 13 to 30 year old listeners.

The college also broadcasts on the AM band (on campus coverage only). The vertical antenna radio station operates at 650 Khz and carries the same programming as WGCC-FM.

Participation with WGCC-FM is open to all members of the college community. Staffing preference is first given to Communication and Media Arts majors, however the station is on the air seven days a week, signing on at 6am, and signing off at 1am daily, ensuring plenty of available shifts for interested members of the GCC community.

When you join WGCC-FM, you will be trained on how to operate all radio equipment according to FCC standards. WGCC-FM offers a unique & fun learning experience!
